Club Details
Purpose of Ripples Karate:
Ripples Inclusive Karate Class caters for Children with Dyspraxia, Aspergers, Autism or simply those with higher needs who don’t get on in mainstream Karate classes.
Our club allow them to be themselves in an environment which is understanding.
Brief Background history–
Ripples Karate Club was founded in 2012 by Bing Carroll and Anne Caulfield with 11 students in our first session. Since then we have grown and we now have 7 sessions running in Coolock and Clontarf per week. We have approximately50 students and from the original session in 2012 we still have 5 attending. In 2023 we became WSKF Ripples Karate Club.
For a number of students who come to us, the first few weeks can be difficult as they are not used to being in an environment with similar children and teens to themselves. WSKF Ripples Karate Club is simply a space where students can be themselves.
Our sessions are coached and mentored by senior students of WSKF Ripples Karate Club, who fully understand and can empathise with the students they are teaching.
