Club Details
WSKF Ennis Karate Academy was founded in 1998 and originally called Shotokan Karate Ennis. Jim Bradley has always been the Instructor, assisted by John Tunney, Pat Organ, Toni Knowles and Seamus Enright.
The club has had success in national and international competitions in both kata and kumite.
WSKF Ennis Karate Academy prides itself in the way that the club is considered to be a family club, with several families actively involved in the club as instructors, mentors and members.

Sensei Jim Bradley
Jim Bradley holds a 5th dan Black Belt. 50 years of age, he has spent over half his life practicing karate (28 years). The past 14 years he has also served as an instructor at the Ennis Karate Academy. Jim started karate in October 1984 in the university shotokan karate club in NUI Maynooth . His first karate instructor was Sensei Joe O'Rourke and the club was affiliated to the KUI. Jim graded as Sho-dan in 1998. His club affiliated to the WSKF in 2005 and he was graded to Go-dan by Sensei Kasuya in Dublin during the annual seminar in May 2019.

Sensei John Tunney
John Tunney, instructor at Ennis Karate Academy, has practiced karate since 1996. He was awarded his Sho-dan in 2001, Ni-dan in 2004, San-dan in 2007 and Yon-dan in 2013. John is interested in both Traditional and Sports karate. In addition to teaching karate, he is a keen competitor, winning titles at both national and international levels.

Sensei Toni Knowles
Toni began Karate aged 19 in South Africa, training under Sensei Stan Schmidt 8th Dan. On moving to Ireland she has trained with WSKF Ennis achieving her Sho-dan grade in 2009, her Nidan in 2011 and her San-dan in 2015 under Sensei Hitoshi Kasuya.
